Cathy Gatundu Member

Cathy Gatundu is an African feminist, passionate about Social Justice and human rights. Cathy has worked with coalitions, allies and international organizations to seek feminist alternatives to ecological and economic problems affecting womn and local communities, with strengths and expertise in policy advocacy for environmental and land rights, agroecology and agriculture ecosystems integrity. She holds a Master of Science degree in Environmental Sciences from Australian National University,

Her career journey of 20 years has seen her work at national and international organizations on campaigning, policy research and advocacy; capacity building; and partnership with social movements and organizations from grassroots, national, regional to international levels. She has worked with ActionAid International, Kenya Land Alliance, and Forest Action Network. She has also served on various organizational Boards of governance and advisory committees such as Chairperson Board of Governance. Kenya Land Alliance, Member of International Advisory Committee for Global Alliance for Green and Gender Action(GAGGA), Netherlands, Coordinator for Civil Society Platform for engagement with Africa Land Policy Initiative, Africawide. Her passion and expertise lay in secure environmental and land rights, terrestrial biodiversity conservation, sustainable agricultural ecosystems. Currently, Cathy is freelance consultant and founder/director; Cavien Healthy foods, an enterprise that focuses on production and processing of organic foods.
