“The Digital Economy: A New Terrain of Struggle” is the twelfth session in South Feminist Future’s Political Education series. This series is an initiative by South Feminist Futures that seeks to strengthen cross-regional, intergenerational dialogue and build a cross-regional feminist constituency. The series cuts through various topics to interrogate and strengthen understanding of issues shaping conditions in the Global South.
This session took place on the 16th of May, 2024 and was taught by Florencia Partenio In this video, Florencia talks about the digitalisation of everyday life and the economy, its impacts on feminist activism in the Global South and the place of technologies in the feminist futures we imagine and build.
Florencia Partenio is a member of DAWN’s Executive Committee. She holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires. Her working areas include labor studies, gender studies, and economic sociology. She is a part of DAWN’s Social Mobilizing team, the Feminist Digital Project, and coordinates DAWN’s School of Feminist Economics. She is also a professor of labor relations and feminist studies at bachelor and postgraduate programmes across vast public universities in Argentina.
