Established in 2020, South Feminist Futures (SFF) is a membership organisation dedicated to fostering a community that advocates for Global South Feminism as a distinct identity and political project. Our inaugural event, the South Feminist Futures Festival in December 2020, signalled the commencement of our mission to embody this vision.
South Feminist Futures seeks to form autonomous spaces for Global South Feminists to articulate solutions to the world’s multiple crises. These solutions are informed by knowledge and actions inherited from the long intellectual tradition of Third World feminism, which has made invaluable contributions to the critique of not only patriarchy, but also its relationship to racism, colonialism, and neoliberal capitalism.
Our goal is to build a base of decolonial knowledge and extend and exchange it towards supporting South Feminist political education, strategizing, and networking to fill the existing gap in investment and representation of the analyses and experiences of women, trans and non-binary people from the Global South.

To articulate a collective holistic South Feminist vision and agenda for transformative social, economic, and political change (local to global)

To facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration, dialogue, collective strategizing, and agenda setting for feminist, queer and women-led organisations, movements, networks, activists, and academics from the global south, and BIPOC in the North (South-in-North)

To promote a Global South Feminist voice and leadership in international feminist spaces, social movement mobilisations and in intergovernmental, civil society and national policy spaces
Our stakeholders, staff and target audiences for knowledge sharing, collaboration, dialogue, collective strategizing, and agenda setting include feminist, queer and women-led organisations, movements, networks, activists, and academics from the Global South, and Black, Indigenous, People of Colour (BIPOC) in the North (South-in-North).
